Our mission therefore is to discover and teach learners that are unable to cope with their studies so that they, too, can have a better chance at achieving what they want to achieve and reach the requirements of the department of Education and beyond without any academic limitations. We aim to discover schools that have a low pass rate, children’s homes that have children who struggle with particular subjects which are under the Learning Outcomes that DLA offers.
Vision
Our vision is to eventually become leaders in the industry within south Africa and Gauteng. We see ourselves being the ones who have made a difference in the country that we live in and the communities that we were raised in. our belief is that we do not do what our completion does, we do it things differently and we do it distinctively good.
ABOUT US
Distinctive Learning Academy (DLA) is a Registered NPC which is an educational organisation that aims to help learners with their academic studies. It aims to increase the pass rate of schools across Gauteng. DLA started in 2015 as just an ambition that two ordinary Education Students of the University of Johannesburg had, not knowing that that would soon be turned into a reality. We all started as private tutors in our own spare times, who, in the end, produced good results. With such results, we decided to turn our work into something that will not only help one child but a majority of children in Soweto and Gauteng as time progresses. As an organisation we believe that a child is not unwise if he or she cannot meet the requirements that the department of Education has pre-set, but we believe that he or she might be unable to cope with his or her studies due to unforeseen circumstances or he or she just cannot understand the work, therefore needs help and time. We believe that children are different and also learn differently. Learners are not only people who need knowledge but they also know something which makes them people who have some knowledge and teachers can learn from them.
